Former Arsenal youth player Kristoffer Olsson has mutually ended his contract with FC Midtjylland. The 29-year-old was diagnosed with a rare brain condition after losing consciousness at home on February 20 last year. Doctors found small blood clots in his brain, caused by a rare inflammation of blood vessels.
After a year of recovery, Olsson has decided to move back to Sweden. He will train with IFK Norrkoping, the club where he started his professional career. The Danish club supported his decision, with deputy football director Kristian Bach Bak praising Olsson’s strength and courage.
Olsson expressed his deep gratitude to FC Midtjylland, saying the club stood by him during his difficult time. He remains determined to play football again and is making steady progress. Training in Norrkoping, close to family and friends, is a significant step toward his goal.
The Swedish midfielder has played 47 times for his national team and has had club stints with Arsenal, Anderlecht, Krasnodar, and AIK. Despite his health challenges, he remains motivated to return to professional football.
