Striker Marcus Rashford aims subtle dig at Man United boss Ruben Amorim after FA Cup quarter-final win with Aston Villa

Marcus Rashford has made a strong impact at Aston Villa since leaving Manchester United on loan. The England striker scored twice in Villa’s 3-0 win over Preston in the FA Cup quarter-finals, helping his team reach the semi-finals.

Rashford struggled for game time at United under new manager Ruben Amorim. His move to Villa has given him a fresh start, and he feels much fitter and more confident. After the match, Rashford shared his thoughts with BBC Sport.

“It’s a great feeling. I feel like I’ve been getting fitter and playing better football since I’ve been here. It’s always nice to score, so I hope to keep it going,” Rashford said.

The 27-year-old also spoke about Villa’s ambitions. “We take it one game at a time and give 100% on the pitch. We want to win, go as far as we can in all competitions, and push for the top four.”

Former footballer Micah Richards believes Rashford is a better fit at Villa. He explained that Rashford struggled at United because Amorim’s tactics didn’t suit his playing style. In contrast, Villa’s manager, Unai Emery, has a clear plan, and Rashford has settled in well.

“Emery has a structure. Amorim found it hard to fit Rashford into his formation, but at Villa, he knows his role and is thriving,” Richards said.

With Rashford happy and in form, Aston Villa could have a strong finish to the season. If his performances continue, Villa may decide to sign him permanently at the end of the campaign.
