Russia may be ‘dragging feet’ on achieving peace in Ukraine -Trump

Donald Trump believes Russia wants to end its war with Ukraine but may be taking its time. His comments came after Russia challenged parts of a deal made with the US.

The US announced that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to stop using force in the Black Sea and ensure safe travel for ships. Ukraine confirmed this, but Russia added new demands. It wants some sanctions on its banks and exports lifted before fully following the agreement.

The US did not mention lifting sanctions in its statement. Russia, however, insists that financial restrictions on its agricultural bank and other companies must be removed.

Russia and Ukraine also agreed to pause attacks on energy sites, but the details remain unclear. Russia claims it stopped attacking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure on March 18 after Trump spoke with Putin. However, Ukraine says Russia still launched at least eight attacks in the past week.

Meanwhile, Russia accuses Ukraine of attacking its own facilities, including an oil station in southern Russia.

With both sides blaming each other and setting new conditions, it’s uncertain how soon peace can be achieved. Trump suggests Russia may be delaying the process, but the situation remains complicated.
