Morocco 2025: Flamingos head to Pretoria Wednesday for South Africa clash

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s football team, the Flamingos, will leave for South Africa on Wednesday for their 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying match. They will face South Africa’s Bantwana team in the first leg of the tie.

The game is set to take place at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday.

Head coach Bankole Olowookere has chosen 19 players for the trip. Among them are goalkeeper Christiana Uzoma, defenders Hannah Ibrahim and Jumai Adebayo, midfielders Shakirat Moshood and Muinat Rotimi, and forwards Harmony Chidi and Chisom Nwachukwu.

The second leg will be played at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Saturday, March 15. The team that wins on aggregate will move to the third round of the qualification process.

The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will be held in Morocco from October 17 to November 8, 2025.
