Former Norwich City star, Devonte Aransibia dies at 26

Former Norwich City and Maidstone United footballer Devonte Aransibia has sadly passed away at the age of 26. His family confirmed the heartbreaking news and set up a GoFundMe page in his memory.

Aransibia started his football career with Norwich City, playing in their youth teams. However, he was unable to break into the first team.

He later found success in non-league football, playing for teams like Potters Bar, Royston Town, Chelmsford, and Welling.

Last season, he was part of Maidstone United’s memorable FA Cup run, where they defeated Ipswich Town and reached the fifth round before losing to Coventry City.

His family released a heartfelt statement, describing him as a kind and loving person who always had a smile on his face.

His father also shared an emotional message on social media, expressing his deep sorrow.

Many of his former teammates and coaches have paid tribute to him. His ex-manager Jay Saunders described him as a “good person and a very good footballer.”

Former teammate Sam Cox shared a touching message, reminding people to be kind, as “everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about.”

Norwich City also honored Aransibia by announcing a tribute before their game against Preston North End. The club’s players and staff wore black armbands, and a minute of applause was held before kickoff.

Devonte Aransibia had a promising career in football, leaving an impact on his teammates, coaches, and fans.
