On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State hosted several key members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan, including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom.

They came to offer their condolences following the death of Makinde’s elder brother, Sunday Makinde.

Sunday Makinde passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the age of 65. Wike and Ortom arrived at the Governor’s residence in the Ikolaba Government Reservation Area of Ibadan in the afternoon to express their sympathy and support.

The condolence visit was joined by other prominent PDP figures, including former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and Senators Sandy Onor, Philip Aduda, Olaka Nwogu, Mao Ohuabunwa, as well as Rt. Hon Chibudom Nwuche, among others.

Gov. Makinde appreciated the gesture from his fellow party members during this difficult time.
