Vice President Kashim Shettima has landed at the Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madina, Saudi Arabia.

Warm Welcome in Madina
Upon his arrival, Shettima was warmly received by Abdulmohsen Bin Nayef Bin Hamed, the Deputy Governor of Madina Region, along with key Nigerian diplomatic officials, including the Consulate General of Jeddah, Ambassador Mu’azzam Nayaya.

Purpose of the Visit
Shettima’s visit includes touring important religious sites in Medina, including the Holy Mosque of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He will then proceed to Mecca to perform the Lesser Hajj, also known as Umrah.

Bilateral Talks with IsDB
On December 20, 2024, Vice President Shettima will meet with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in Jeddah. The meeting will focus on financing arrangements for the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ Phase II). They will also discuss ways to enhance coordination on IsDB-funded projects in Nigeria to boost agriculture and economic development.

Representation in Dubai Before Saudi Arabia Visit
Before traveling to Saudi Arabia, Shettima represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Dubai at the commissioning of Oriental Energy Limited’s (OERL) $315 million oil production and storage facility.

Farewell from Dubai Officials
He was seen off in Dubai by the Executive Chairman of OERL, Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, and the Executive Vice Chairman, Engr. Goni M. Sheikh, alongside other dignitaries.

Umrah Pilgrimage
Following his duties in Dubai, Shettima will perform the Lesser Hajj (Umrah) in the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah from December 16 to 19, 2024.
