Wedding Ceremony Held at Lagos Airport

People at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal II (MMA2) in Lagos were astonished on Saturday when a couple, Olamide Alli and Abiodun Agboola, chose to take their wedding vows right at the terminal, creating a memorable scene for everyone present.

The Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal II, where the wedding took place, is managed by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd (BASL), a company known for its innovative approaches to airport management.

Mr. Kola Bamigboye, the Chief Operating Officer of BASL, expressed his excitement about hosting the first wedding at the airport. He explained that the event was meant to showcase that MMA2 is more than just a facility for catching flights; it can also be a unique venue for special occasions.

Mr. Bamigboye conveyed his hope that this successful wedding ceremony would inspire more couples to consider the airport as a potential wedding venue. He believes it can be a new trend in wedding destinations.

“We aim to bring people together, whether they are traveling through our terminal or coming here to celebrate their love,” Mr. Bamigboye stated, emphasizing the airport’s versatile use.

Mrs. Monica Oguta, the Head of Aviation Security for BASL, highlighted that the wedding was an opportunity to add value to airport terminals, transforming them into places where special memories can be created.

When asked if the couple were employees of the airport, Mrs. Oguta clarified that they were just regular Nigerians who thought the idea of an airport wedding was appealing and unique.

Mrs. Oguta shared that she had been nurturing the idea of an airport wedding for several years. When the opportunity finally presented itself, they were quick to seize it and make it a reality.

According to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN), the couple exchanged their wedding vows and rings right at the terminal, creating a one-of-a-kind experience for everyone involved.

The wedding ceremony was officiated by Ms. Oluwabukunmi Aminu, who served as the vow coordinator, ensuring that the couple’s special moment was handled with care and attention.

One of the passengers, Mrs. Abigail Babatunde, remarked that she had never witnessed a wedding at an airport before and found the experience to be quite remarkable and memorable.
