The naira’s recent performance comes amid fluctuations in foreign exchange supply and demand, as well as developments in Nigeria’s external reserves and international currency markets.
Analysts say sustained foreign exchange inflows, improved dollar liquidity and effective monetary policy implementation remain important to maintaining exchange rate stability.
The performance of the naira is particularly important to businesses and consumers, as movements in the exchange rate influence the cost of imported goods, petroleum products, raw materials, machinery and other essential commodities.
Market participants will continue to monitor the CBN’s foreign exchange policies and dollar supply conditions for indications of the naira’s direction in the coming trading sessions.
Note: Exchange rates are indicative and subject to changes. Official rates are based on the latest reported figures, while parallel-market rates may differ among dealers.
