Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, stated that only candidates with clear achievements in their current or past roles will be allowed to run under the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2027 elections.

Nwifuru made the announcement while joining Ebonyi North Senator, Chief Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, to commission development projects on Wednesday.

Represented by the state APC chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, the governor emphasized that those with no visible progress in their constituencies should not seek re-election, as the party will avoid repeating mistakes from the 2023 elections.

“The time to evaluate results has come. Only those with tangible achievements will be considered for our party’s tickets in the next elections. Those without accomplishments will have no support from the party,” Nwifuru declared.

At one of the project sites, Senator Nwebonyi said he was inspired to support the governor’s developmental agenda in his senatorial district.

He promised to set a high standard in representation that would be hard to surpass if re-elected in 2027.

“Your Excellency, I was motivated to carry out these projects beyond my legislative duties to complement your developmental efforts in our senatorial district,” he said.

Some of the projects commissioned include roads, classroom blocks, and street lights.
