Deborah Mbara, the woman whose cancer report was allegedly edited by Blessing CEO, has finally shared her side of the story.
This comes shortly after the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) called for Blessing CEO’s arrest over claims that she altered a cancer patient’s medical report.
Earlier, Blessing CEO had shared a medical report online to support her claim that she was suffering from stage 4 breast cancer while asking the public for financial help.
The report was said to be from Xinus Medical Diagnostics and signed by a consultant pathologist, Dr. O.A. Odigwe.
However, the diagnostic centre denied the claim and stated that the original report actually belonged to Deborah Mbara and was issued in May 2025.
Speaking in a video on Instagram, Deborah, who works as a makeup artist and is a cancer survivor, explained how Blessing asked her for the report.
She said they met last year in Asaba when she worked as Blessing’s makeup artist, and recently Blessing reached out after claiming she had cancer.
Deborah said she and a friend tried to support Blessing, even involving a doctor to encourage and advise her, while she also shared her own experience battling cancer.
She explained that Blessing later asked her to send her medical report so she could compare it with hers, and she agreed without hesitation.
According to Deborah, she was shocked to later see her own report online, allegedly edited and used to support a false claim while people were donating money.
She also accused Blessing of denying knowing her publicly, despite visiting her family in Asaba to beg for forgiveness.
Deborah said her husband asked Blessing to apologise publicly and explain what really happened.
She added that she believed she was helping someone in need, but later realised there was a hidden intention behind the request, describing the situation as wrong and disappointing.
