Suspected Boko Haram members arrested in Adamawa

Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested some people believed to be members of Boko Haram in Balda community, located in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The information was shared by security expert Zagazola Makama through his post on social media.

He revealed that one of the suspects is identified as John Ado, while the identities of two others are still being confirmed.

According to security reports, the suspects were arrested on March 29 during ongoing military operations against insurgents in the area.

Sources said the three suspects were part of the group’s foot soldiers and were linked to attacks carried out in parts of southern Borno State.

During questioning, the suspects reportedly admitted that their role was to gather and handle items stolen during attacks, rather than taking part in actual fighting.

“They said they were responsible for collecting items taken during the recent attack in Ngoshe and were not involved in frontline combat,” a source explained.

Further investigation revealed that the group’s leaders had planned an attack on a military barracks in Mubi to steal explosives.

The plan also included using the stolen explosives to destroy a bridge over the River Benue in Yola, which could have disrupted movement and economic activities in the area.
