Insecurity: Sokoto Senator, Lamido quits APC

The senator representing Sokoto East, Ibrahim Lamido, has announced that he plans to leave the All Progressives Congress due to the growing security problems in his area.

He said the situation in his constituency has become very serious, with many communities attacked by armed groups, forcing people to flee their homes for safety.

Lamido also explained that the continuous attacks have badly affected the local economy, especially farming, which is the main source of income for many residents.

He expressed concern over the suffering of his people, saying entire villages have been destroyed by bandits and that he cannot continue to support a system that is not doing enough to solve the problem.

The senator added that his decision came after wide consultations with traditional rulers, political leaders, and his supporters across the district.

According to him, many people agreed during these discussions that a new political direction is needed because of the current situation.
