A man named Nuhu Bakanike has lost his life after his son reportedly set him on fire in Kazaure, Jigawa State.

The tragic incident, which happened early on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, has left residents of the area in shock.

Reports say the suspect, Kabiru, is believed to have poured petrol on his father and then used matches to start the fire.

The victim suffered severe burns and was quickly taken to the hospital, but sadly passed away while receiving treatment.

Authorities have since arrested the suspect, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
