Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has received a proposal to upgrade Rufus Giwa Polytechnic into a university.

The proposal was presented by a committee led by Igbekele Ajibefun, highlighting the need for expansion in higher education.

The upgrade aims to meet the growing demand for university admission and improve global competitiveness.

Approval from the National Universities Commission is required before the plan can fully take effect.
