Troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, together with local vigilantes, have repelled a terrorist attack in Maiwa village.

The incident resulted in the death of two villagers during the exchange of gunfire with the attackers.

According to reports shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the troops responded quickly after receiving a distress call in the evening.

On arrival, they joined forces with vigilantes who were already engaging the attackers in a gun battle.

The combined response forced the attackers to retreat into nearby bushes, ending the immediate threat to the community.

Security forces have since maintained a strong presence in the area, carrying out patrols to prevent further attacks and improve safety.
