A former governorship aspirant in Plateau State, John Sura, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress just three months after joining the party.
Sura, who previously contested under the Peoples Democratic Party, submitted his resignation letter dated March 21, 2026, stating that his decision takes immediate effect.
Although he did not give detailed reasons for leaving, he thanked party leaders and members for their support during his short stay in the APC.
His exit has sparked discussions among political observers, with some linking it to recent developments involving Caleb Mutfwang and shifting power dynamics within the party.
Analysts suggest that Sura’s chances of securing the APC governorship ticket for 2027 may have influenced his decision, especially given local political alignments.
There are now speculations that he could join another party, possibly the African Democratic Congress or the Young Progressives Party, as he plans his next political move.
