Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu received a formal farewell from King Charles III and Queen Camilla after their official visit to Windsor Castle. The event marked the end of their engagements at the royal residence.
The Nigerian president is expected to continue his visit in the United Kingdom with scheduled talks alongside Keir Starmer before returning to Nigeria.
During their arrival earlier in the visit, President Tinubu and the First Lady were introduced to members of the Royal Family by Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales.
The ceremony included full royal honours, with a 42-gun salute carried out by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, highlighting the importance of the diplomatic visit.
Several top Nigerian officials attended the visit, including Godswill Akpabio, Lateef Fagbemi, Christopher Musa, and Nuhu Ribadu.
President Tinubu had departed Nigeria earlier in the week for the state visit, which is aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations and economic cooperation between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
