The Premier League has confirmed that Arsenal benefited from two major VAR errors during this season’s title race. One of the incidents occurred in their narrow win over Brighton & Hove Albion.
During that match, a challenge involving Gabriel Martinelli was reviewed, but no penalty was awarded. However, a later review by the league’s panel concluded that Brighton should have been given a spot-kick.
Another controversial moment came in Arsenal’s game against Everton, where a challenge by William Saliba was also not penalized. The decision denied Everton a chance to level the game from the penalty spot.
These rulings have sparked fresh debate about VAR decisions and their impact on the title race, especially as Arsenal continues to push ahead of rivals like Manchester City.
