Iranian politician Ali Larijani has warned that any US attack on Iran’s electricity system could have severe consequences across the region. The comments came after former President Donald Trump claimed the US could destroy Iran’s electric grid within an hour.
Larijani said an attack would plunge not only Iran but the wider Middle East into darkness in under 30 minutes, highlighting the risk of widespread disruption.
He also suggested that a blackout could endanger American forces in the region, saying it would provide “ample opportunity to hunt down US servicemen running for safety.”
The warning underscores rising tensions between Iran and the United States, with regional stability potentially at risk if infrastructure targets are attacked.
