President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he previously warned U.S. President Donald Trump about the risk of a possible global conflict. In a televised interview, Zelensky claimed he cautioned that the growing tensions could eventually lead to World War III, but he believes his concerns were not fully taken seriously at the time.
The Ukrainian leader also raised concerns about closer cooperation between Russia and Iran. According to him, Moscow could support Tehran with weapons, drones and missile technology, a development he believes may further escalate tensions in the Middle East and beyond.
Zelensky also mentioned reports that about 10,000 soldiers from North Korea are currently in Russia. He warned that such deployments could expand to other regions, including Ukraine or even the Middle East, if the conflict continues to widen.
The Ukrainian president noted that several Middle Eastern countries have remained neutral in the Russia-Ukraine war due to strong economic ties with Moscow. However, he said the current crisis may be changing perceptions as more countries begin to experience the impact of regional attacks and instability.
