The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned it may deploy underwater missiles as the conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel continues to intensify. Deputy commander Ali Fadavi said the missiles can be launched from underwater and travel at high speed, adding that the weapons could be used in the coming days if tensions escalate further.
Fadavi also claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump is seeking a ceasefire, arguing that such a request would not come from a side that had already won the conflict. Meanwhile, analysts say Iran’s public discussion of its military plans may be aimed at creating pressure and fear among its rivals.
Security concerns grew after drones reportedly struck fuel storage tanks at the Port of Salalah in Oman, causing a major fire. Iran has also been accused of attacking several ships in regional waters this week, raising fears about disruptions to global energy supply and shipping routes.
The United States Central Command said its forces had destroyed several Iranian naval vessels, including mine-laying ships near the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, the United Nations Security Council adopted a resolution condemning attacks linked to Iran against Gulf countries and Jordan, highlighting growing international concern over the crisis.
