2027: ‘Deflate your egos’ – Ikechukwu urges PDP

Okey Ikechukwu has urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party to put aside personal pride and resolve their internal disagreements ahead of the 2027 elections. He said unity within the party is essential if it hopes to remain a strong opposition force.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Ikechukwu noted that ongoing political disputes could weaken the party’s chances. His comments followed a recent court ruling that dismissed a faction of the party led by Taminu Turaki.

He advised party leaders to focus on practical steps needed for electoral success. According to him, the PDP must decide whether it wants to remain the strongest opposition capable of challenging the ruling party in future elections.

Ikechukwu also suggested that the party should develop strong candidates, run effective campaigns and mobilize voters through proper registration. He referenced earlier advice by Bukola Saraki, urging PDP members to settle their differences and focus on rebuilding the party.
