Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s son reportedly named as Iran’s new supreme leader

Reports from Israeli media claim that Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei has been chosen as Iran’s new Supreme Leader. He was reportedly selected by the Assembly of Experts following the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iranian authorities have yet to officially confirm the development.

According to the reports, the late leader died during joint US-Israeli airstrikes carried out on February 28. Several members of his family were also said to have lost their lives during the attack. A burial ceremony is expected to take place in Mashhad, with a major farewell event planned in Tehran.

The military operation, reportedly named “Operation Epic Fury,” followed rising tensions over Iran’s nuclear activities. The strikes allegedly targeted multiple cities, including Tehran, with hundreds of casualties reported.

In response, Iran reportedly launched missiles toward parts of the Gulf region. The situation has further increased tensions in the Middle East, with global leaders closely monitoring the unfolding events.
