Bala Mohammed has called on Bola Tinubu to urgently step in as bandit attacks worsen in Alkaleri forests. Speaking after a meeting at the Presidential Villa, he warned that the violence could grow into a humanitarian crisis if not quickly addressed.
The governor said armed groups now operate freely in forest corridors, attacking communities and confronting security forces. Many residents have reportedly fled to safer areas, especially during the ongoing fasting period.
Mohammed stated that he toured the affected areas with security chiefs and submitted a report to the president. He noted that Tinubu responded positively and has directed security agencies to strengthen operations, pointing to past successes in other states as examples.
He also revealed plans for a joint security summit with neighboring governors to tackle the threat collectively. Reaffirming his loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party, he stressed that cooperation between state and federal authorities remains vital to restoring peace and protecting economic growth.
