The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has recovered five official vehicles from former commissioners who resigned from the state executive council. The commission said the ex-officials failed to return government property despite repeated requests.
Chairman Sa’idu Yahaya explained that the action followed formal complaints from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government. He noted that the commission obtained a court order before carrying out the recovery exercise.
According to Yahaya, investigations showed that some of the original vehicles had been sold and replaced with others. He said only two of the recovered cars were the actual vehicles purchased by the government, while three were replacements.
The commission denied claims of political bias, insisting the move was to protect public assets. Officials vowed to continue monitoring government property and take action against anyone who unlawfully retains state resources.
