Nollywood comic actor and content creator Okemesi is reportedly in a coma following complications from medication he received at a hospital. Fellow actor Jeff Owolewa, also known as Tony Montana, disclosed the development on Instagram on Monday night.
Okemesi, whose real name is Bamidele Tope Saint, had recently moved into a new apartment provided by the public after seeking financial help due to illness and homelessness. Jeff explained that the actor was initially discharged from the hospital last week but later developed severe complications from the prescribed drugs.
According to Jeff, Okemesi was rejected by multiple hospitals, including a government facility in Igodo, before being readmitted to the private hospital that first treated him. He has been on oxygen support since Monday morning, and his breathing is reportedly improving.
Jeff Owolewa called on Nigerians to pray for Okemesi’s recovery and also appealed for financial assistance to support his ongoing treatment, highlighting the urgent need for public help in stabilizing the actor’s health.
