The Presidency has responded to broadcast journalist Rufai Oseni, saying President Bola Tinubu assumed office in 2023 by divine will, despite critics questioning the election outcomes. Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga defended the legitimacy of APC results in the FCT area council elections.

Onanuga accused Oseni of spreading falsehoods and exhibiting “pathological hatred” towards the ruling party, insisting the published results accurately reflected the votes cast. He noted that APC’s votes were consistent with the overall tally across polling units.

The presidential aide stressed that since May 2023, when God granted Tinubu power, critics should have moved past partisan attacks and focus on constructive discourse. The remarks highlight ongoing tensions between government officials and media figures over electoral transparency.
