Amnesty International has reported that over 300 people were killed in violent attacks across six northern states in February. The human rights group highlighted that the incidents reflect a worsening security situation in the region.
According to the report, communities in these states continue to face attacks from armed groups, leaving many residents displaced and in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. Amnesty International urged authorities to take immediate action to protect civilians.
The group called on the government to strengthen security measures, hold perpetrators accountable, and address the root causes of violence, including poverty and weak local governance. Failure to act, it warned, could escalate the crisis further.
Amnesty International also emphasized the importance of documenting abuses, supporting victims, and ensuring international attention to prevent future massacres. The organization stressed that justice and protection for citizens must be prioritized.
