The Nigeria Women Football League has sanctioned Osun Babes FC with a ₦2.5 million fine and a three-point deduction after their scheduled match against FC Robo Queens failed to hold in Lagos. The fixture was set for Wednesday at Onikan Stadium but could not start because the visiting side did not meet kit regulations.
League officials said Osun Babes failed to provide an alternate jersey with clear names and numbers despite a confirmed colour clash. As a result, the league awarded a walkover victory to Robo Queens according to its rules.
Media Director Samuel Ahmadu explained the decision followed breaches of Articles 10.3 and 10.5, which require away teams to change kits when colours conflict. The club was also cited under Article 14.7 for failing to honour a match without valid reason.
Chief Operating Officer Modupe Shabi said strict compliance is mandatory for all clubs, stressing that regulations protect fairness and professionalism. The league warned teams to follow operational rules closely to avoid similar penalties in future games.
