The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, says the planned Katsina-Ala–Takum road will improve safety and boost business activities across Benue State and nearby regions. He explained that better roads help security agencies respond faster and reduce crime along major routes.
Umahi noted that the project is part of the Federal Government’s effort to connect rural communities to markets and services. According to him, smooth transportation will make it easier for farmers and traders to move goods without delays or losses.
He added that the road will also open up new opportunities for investors and support regional trade. The minister stressed that infrastructure growth remains a key strategy for strengthening the economy and improving living standards.
Residents and stakeholders have welcomed the plan, saying the road could transform travel and commerce in the area. Officials believe the project will bring long-term benefits once construction is completed.
