The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Olohundare Jimoh, has officially decorated newly promoted Assistant Superintendents of Police and urged them to step up their performance in serving the public. The ceremony, held at the command headquarters in Ikeja, highlighted the importance of professionalism, discipline, and dedication in policing.
During his remarks, the commissioner described the promotions as recognition of merit, hard work, and outstanding service. He reminded the officers that their new rank is not just an honor but also a responsibility to uphold integrity and remain committed to national service. According to him, leadership and teamwork must now define their conduct in all assignments.
Jimoh also praised the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for approving the nationwide promotion of 1,848 inspectors to the rank of Assistant Superintendent. He assured the police leadership that the newly elevated officers would be strategically deployed to strengthen operations and improve safety across the state.
Some of the promoted officers expressed gratitude for the recognition and pledged to work harder in their new roles. They said the elevation motivates them to perform better and contribute positively to building trust between the police and the public while supporting reforms within the force.
