Celebrity businessman and socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has publicly criticized businessman Isaac Fayose following remarks condemning Igbo leaders and entrepreneurs for aligning with the current administration.
The controversy stems from a video shared by Fayose on Tuesday, February 10, in which he accused prominent Igbo businessmen of abandoning calls for the release of detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu in pursuit of personal and political interests.
Fayose alleged that no ethnic group “betrays themselves” like the Igbos, claiming that several high-profile figures had chosen to form alliances with the Tinubu-led government rather than prioritize collective concerns.

Cubana Chiefpriest, alongside his former associate Obi Cubana and other notable Igbo businessmen, has faced criticism from some Nigerians over perceived ties to the current administration.
Responding to the video, Cubana Chiefpriest described Fayose’s comments as a direct attack and dismissed them as driven by jealousy.
He maintained that meaningful influence, particularly regarding the release of Nnamdi Kanu, can only be achieved from within the corridors of power rather than from an opposition standpoint.

The exchange has sparked fresh debate online about political alignment, ethnic loyalty, and the role of business leaders in national discourse.
