Former Kogi State governor, Idris Wada, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to shun internal rivalries and embrace peace and unity. Wada, who is also Chairman of the Kogi Progressive Stakeholders Forum (KPSF), made the appeal at a forum meeting held on Wednesday in Lokoja.
Speaking to party members, Wada emphasized that a united APC is essential to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform agenda and ensure success in the 2027 general elections. He highlighted that inclusiveness is a core value of the forum and urged that all members, regardless of status or political tendency, be involved in strengthening the party.
Other party leaders, including Baba Ali, Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, Dr. Kashim Akor, and Ganiyu Salawudeen, expressed optimism that Kogi State can deliver overwhelming support for President Tinubu. They noted that achieving this goal requires an atmosphere of peace, cohesion, and collaboration among party members.
The meeting concluded with a communique calling for sustained unity, fairness, voter mobilization, and strategic engagement ahead of the 2027 elections. High-profile attendees included AIG Abutu Yaro, former House of Representatives member Haruna Isah, and other senior party figures committed to APC’s success in the state.
