Transfer: Olympic Marseille agree deal to sign Tochukwu Nnadi

French Ligue 1 side Olympic Marseille have agreed to sign Nigerian midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi on a permanent deal from Belgian club Zulte Waregem. The transfer fee is reported to be €6 million, making Nnadi the fourth-most expensive player ever sold by Zulte Waregem.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder impressed at Zulte Waregem, making 18 appearances before attracting interest from other European clubs, including some in the Premier League. His consistent performances in Belgium highlighted his potential and versatility in midfield.

Nnadi joined Zulte Waregem in January 2024 from Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv. He is also a former youth international for Nigeria and was included in the Super Eagles squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, making one appearance under coach Éric Chelle.

The move to Marseille represents a significant step in Nnadi’s career, giving him the opportunity to compete at a higher level in France’s top-flight league and continue his development as a key midfielder for both club and country.
