The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has set up a 50-member Wise Men and Women Policy and Manifesto Committee to guide the party’s policy framework and manifesto ahead of national elections. The move was approved by the party’s National Working Committee and formally endorsed by National Chairman, Senator David Mark.
The committee brings together Nigerians from diverse sectors, including former public office holders, academics, technocrats, civil society leaders, and policy experts. Its members include Chief John Odigie-Oyegun as chairman, Professor Pat Utomi as deputy chairman, and Salihu Lukman as secretary, alongside prominent figures such as Senators Gershon Bassey and J.J. Akpan Udo-Udeghe, Ambassador Abiye Mohammed, and Professor Ibrahim Garba.
Tasked with developing a people-centered and forward-looking policy direction, the committee is expected to provide credible solutions for governance, economic management, social development, security, and democratic reform. The ADC highlighted that Nigeria’s current challenges demand policies grounded in competence, integrity, and national consensus.
The formal inauguration of the committee is scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja. The party expressed confidence that the committee’s work will produce a manifesto that positions the ADC as a viable alternative and addresses the real needs of Nigerians.
