Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has attributed his team’s 3-1 defeat to Bodo/Glimt in Norway to the opponents’ superior transitions and momentum during the Champions League clash on Tuesday. Kasper Høgh scored twice in the first half, while Jens Petter Hauge added a third goal in the second half.
Rayan Cherki managed to pull one back for City, but Rodri’s red card after receiving two bookings dashed any hopes of a comeback. Guardiola acknowledged that Bodo/Glimt capitalized on their transitions effectively, making it difficult for City to regain control.
The City boss insisted that despite the loss, he has no doubts about his team’s quality in the competition. “Nothing is taken for granted in this tournament, that is for sure,” Guardiola said, adding that momentum played a key role in the outcome.
He reflected on the performance, noting that while City created chances, Bodo/Glimt were particularly strong on the counterattack. Guardiola emphasized the need for his team to remain focused and adapt quickly in high-intensity matches.
