Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has responded to growing calls for him to step away from active politics, saying no individual or group has the power to remove him from the political space. Fayose made the statement while reacting to comments from critics and political rivals who suggested he should withdraw from public affairs.
Fayose stressed that politics is a constitutional right and not a job where someone can be hired or fired at will. He said he has earned his place through years of participation and service, and no amount of pressure, criticism, or political rivalry would force him into silence or retirement.
He also addressed his relationship with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, noting that political disagreements are normal but should not be turned into personal attacks or attempts to erase others from the political arena. Fayose added that he remains focused on speaking his mind on national issues and defending democratic values.
The former governor assured his supporters that he would continue to engage in politics, governance debates, and public discussions that affect Nigerians. He said his voice would not be muted by intimidation or political pressure, promising to remain active and outspoken in the country’s democratic process.
