Three newly created emirate councils in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State have officially turbaned 15 district heads as part of efforts to strengthen traditional leadership and grassroots administration. The ceremonies took place separately in the Jama’a, Lame and Toro emirates after receiving approval from the state government. The event marked a major step in expanding local governance and bringing traditional authority closer to the people.

Speaking at the occasions, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Isah Babayo, urged the new district heads to govern with fairness, honesty and dedication. The emirs of the three councils praised Governor Bala Mohammed for supporting and strengthening the traditional institution in Bauchi State. They pledged their loyalty to the state government and promised to continue working for stability, peaceful coexistence and progress in Toro Local Government Area and beyond.

The newly turbaned district heads thanked the government and their emirs for the confidence placed in them, describing the appointments as a call to greater service.
