NiMet forecasts 3-day nationwide haze, sunshine from Wednesday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast a three-day period of haze and sunshine across the country beginning from Wednesday. The agency said the weather condition will affect visibility in many parts of Nigeria, especially in the early morning and late evening hours.

According to NiMet, dry and dusty winds from the Sahara are responsible for the haze, while strong sunshine is expected during the day in most regions. The weather agency advised motorists, airline operators and people with respiratory conditions to be careful during this period.

NiMet also said temperatures are likely to remain high, especially in the northern and central parts of the country, while the southern region will experience sunny skies with mild haze. Residents were encouraged to stay hydrated and reduce exposure to dust where possible.

The agency urged Nigerians to follow daily weather updates and safety guidelines, stressing that the haze is temporary and should reduce gradually after the three-day period. NiMet promised to continue monitoring the situation and provide timely information to the public.
