AFCON 2025: Akor Adams leaves Super Eagles camp after 4-0 win over Mozambique

Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has left Nigeria’s camp shortly after the team’s 4–0 victory over Mozambique at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The development surprised many fans, especially coming after such an impressive performance by the team in the group stage.

Team officials confirmed that Adams’ departure was not connected to any disciplinary issue. Instead, it was described as a personal or administrative matter agreed between the player and the coaching crew. The Super Eagles technical team said the exit would not affect team unity or preparations for the next round of the tournament.

Nigeria’s win over Mozambique was one of their strongest displays so far, with the team dominating the match from start to finish. The result secured Nigeria’s place in the knockout stage and boosted confidence within the squad as they continue their campaign for a fourth AFCON title.

While Akor Adams’ absence may reduce attacking options, the Super Eagles still have several experienced forwards available. Coaches remain confident that the team has enough depth to compete strongly as the tournament moves into its more decisive stages.
