Canada has deported 366 Nigerian nationals as part of its ongoing immigration enforcement efforts. Authorities have also indicated that 974 other Nigerians are currently facing removal from the country due to immigration violations.
Officials said the deportations are part of standard immigration procedures aimed at ensuring compliance with Canadian laws. Those affected were reportedly in the country without valid visas or had overstayed their permitted period of stay.
The Nigerian government has been notified and is coordinating with Canadian authorities to manage the deportation process. Consular officials are also providing support to the returnees to facilitate their reintegration upon arrival in Nigeria.
The situation has raised concerns among Nigerians living abroad about the importance of adhering to immigration regulations. Both countries emphasized that legal compliance is essential to avoid detention or deportation.
