Nnamdi Kanu: Nigerian Govt turned Kenya into human hunting ground – Igbo Union

An Igbo socio-cultural group has accused the Nigerian government of abusing international law in the arrest of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, in Kenya. The group said the action has turned foreign countries into unsafe places for Nigerian citizens and damaged Nigeria’s global image.

In a statement, the union claimed that Kanu’s arrest in 2021 was not done through proper legal channels and violated basic human rights and international agreements. It warned that such actions could encourage other countries to treat Nigerian citizens unfairly abroad.

The group also expressed concern that the incident has created fear among Nigerians living or travelling outside the country. According to the union, citizens should feel protected by their government, not threatened by actions that expose them to foreign risks.

The union called on the federal government to respect the rule of law and follow diplomatic procedures when dealing with international matters. It urged authorities to correct past mistakes and work towards restoring trust at home and abroad.
