The Ekiti State Government has stepped into a growing community crisis in a bid to prevent the removal of a traditional ruler and restore peace in the area. The intervention followed rising anger among residents who had accused their monarch of actions they considered unacceptable.

Government officials met with community leaders, youths and elders, urging them to remain calm and allow dialogue to resolve the dispute. They appealed to the people to avoid violence and give peace a chance while investigations and reconciliatory efforts continue.

According to sources, the government believes that removing the monarch at this stage could worsen tensions and destabilise the community. Instead, authorities are pushing for forgiveness, understanding and a peaceful settlement that will protect both tradition and public order.

Residents have been encouraged to express their grievances through legal and peaceful means, while the monarch has also been advised to listen to his subjects and make amends where necessary to rebuild trust.
