A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on President Bola Tinubu to take a firm stand against Nigerians who are openly criticising the recent United States airstrikes on suspected terrorist locations. The party leader argued that such criticism weakens national unity at a time when the country is facing serious security threats.
According to him, the airstrikes represent international support for Nigeria’s fight against terrorism and banditry, especially in troubled regions. He said instead of condemning the action, citizens should see it as part of a wider effort to protect lives and restore peace.
The APC chieftain warned that constant attacks on the government and its partners could discourage future cooperation and embolden criminal groups. He insisted that those who oppose the strikes without offering alternatives are indirectly helping the enemies of the state.
He therefore urged the president to prioritise national security and ensure that public discourse does not undermine ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity. He also encouraged Nigerians to support lawful measures aimed at ending violence and promoting stability across the country.
