Former Kano State governor and NNPP leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has urged residents of Sokoto State to remain calm following reports of a United States airstrike targeting terror groups in the area. He said the action was part of wider efforts to weaken extremist networks and improve security across the region.
Kwankwaso called on citizens not to panic or spread fear, stressing that security agencies are working together to restore peace and protect lives. According to him, the focus should be on supporting lawful efforts aimed at ending terrorism and ensuring communities can live without constant threats.
He also encouraged residents to cooperate with security operatives by sharing useful information and avoiding rumours that could worsen tension. Kwankwaso said unity and trust between the people and the authorities are key to defeating violent groups.
The former senator expressed confidence that with sustained local and international cooperation, terrorism can be reduced significantly. He assured residents that peace would return and urged them to continue their normal activities while staying alert and law-abiding.
