Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has called on Christians to use the Christmas season as a time to spread peace, love, and unity in their communities. He said the celebration should go beyond fun and gifts, and instead remind people of the values of kindness, forgiveness, and togetherness.
The governor encouraged residents to show compassion to one another, especially to the less privileged, and avoid actions that could lead to conflict or division. According to him, peaceful coexistence is necessary for the growth and development of society.
Oyebanji also urged families and community leaders to use the period to teach children the importance of respect, tolerance, and helping others. He noted that simple acts of love can make a big difference in strengthening relationships and building trust among people.
He concluded by wishing Christians a joyful Christmas and praying for peace across Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole. The governor expressed hope that the season would renew people’s commitment to unity and harmony.
