Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has identified team organisation and defensive concentration as the main areas Nigeria must improve ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations clash with Tunisia. He said that while the team has shown attacking strength, small lapses at the back could be costly against a disciplined opponent like Tunisia.
Speaking after the team’s recent outing, Chelle noted that the players sometimes lose shape when under pressure, allowing opponents too much space. He stressed that better communication and positioning will help the team stay compact and avoid conceding unnecessary chances.
The coach added that training sessions before the Tunisia match will focus on improving defensive transitions and ensuring midfielders support the back line more effectively. According to him, fixing these issues will give the Super Eagles better balance and increase their chances of controlling the game.
Chelle remained confident in the squad, saying the players are willing to learn and improve. He expressed belief that with the right adjustments, the Super Eagles can put up a strong performance and compete successfully against Tunisia in the upcoming AFCON fixture.
