Paddy–Arikawe road: Ogun orders contractor to stop work, warns against substandard jobs

The Ogun State Government has ordered the contractor handling the Paddy–Arikawe road project to stop work immediately. The directive followed concerns over the quality of work being carried out on the road, which officials say does not meet approved standards.

Government representatives who inspected the site reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the materials used and the pace of construction. They warned that the state will not tolerate substandard jobs, especially on projects meant to improve road safety and ease movement for residents.

According to the state, contractors must strictly follow project specifications and timelines. Any company found cutting corners or delivering poor-quality work risks having its contract reviewed or terminated entirely.

The Ogun State Government reaffirmed its commitment to delivering durable and quality infrastructure. Residents were assured that the road project would only resume once the contractor corrects the issues and meets the required construction standards.
