Three men have been brought before a court for allegedly stealing 500 chickens from a poultry farm. The suspects were arraigned on charges linked to theft and unlawful entry, following an investigation by security agencies.
According to the prosecution, the incident happened at night when the accused persons allegedly broke into the poultry farm and made away with the birds. The stolen chickens were said to be worth a large sum of money, causing serious loss to the farm owner.
Police told the court that the suspects were arrested after a tip-off from members of the community. Some of the stolen chickens were reportedly recovered during the arrest, while investigations are still ongoing to determine if others were involved in the crime.
The court did not take the defendants’ plea immediately and adjourned the case to a later date. The accused were remanded in custody pending further hearing, as the judge advised all parties to allow the law to take its course.
